Raj Kapoor’s 1970 film ‘Mera Naam Joker’ which was produced and directed by him only and marked the debut of Rishi Kapoor in Bollywood, was the first film to have two intervals.
While the plot of the film revolves around a clown who must make his audience laugh at the cost of his own sorrows, is one of the lengthiest films of Indian cinema i.e. 244 mins. The film didn’t receive a good response from the critics as well as the audience due to its length but today it is regarded as a classic.
